“If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried.”
Contrary to the quote above, I chose to expose my failures today. I've failed not once, but twice at making baked mozzarella cheese snacks. I just can't get it right.
Recently, I attempted the homemade mozzarella sticks. Looked easy enough and I had the right ingredients. Seemed fool-proof!
I was so bummed that the cheese just oozed out all over.
Then a few weeks later, I attempted what seemed like another fool-proof snack: Pizza balls. Literally there are three ingredients. Pizza dough, pizza sauce and mozzarella cheese sticks. I made sure that the dough was sealed tight but somehow it got out again!
So, I failed again!
Do any of you have an actual fool-proof way of keeping the cheese from getting everywhere? I need help. . .
[un] Happy Cheesin' it!
I'm glad you posted this! Cause I have the same recipe for the sticks...and I now I know not to do what they say! Let me know how if you do get the full-proof way!
ReplyDeleteOkay, and let me know if you find one, too! I love mozzarella sticks so I'd love to make them at home! I wonder if deep frying them would work instead of baking, but that sort of defeats the purpose, hm?
DeleteFreeze your cheese sticks before you coat them and bake them. ;)
ReplyDeleteOh okay! For how long, Erin? Will they still be melted inside the stick after baking? Or will they be more solid. I like melty :)
DeleteI think i know the solution... leave an airvent at the top. Whenever we make pizza pies we make sure there's a slit on the top of the dough for the heat to escape. Try it, might help.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestion, Tallulah! I will try this the next time I make these.
DeleteI'm really here to appreciate that you are a good blogger!!!
